Latent Heat

The term 'Latent Heat' as it applies to the area of Earth observation can be defined as ' The heat that is either released or absorbed by a unit mass of a substance when it undergoes a change of state, such as during evaporation, condensation, or sublimation'.

The term 'Latent Heat' as it applies to the area of the weather can be defined as ' Heat absorbed or released during a change of phase at constant temperature and pressure'.
